Our friends over at Speedway cycles just launched a new site for the Fatback. Check it out here.
Fatbacks are the result of several years of obsessing, design tweaking and ultra race testing. Revelate, then Epic Designs, started off 5 minutes from Speedway's shop, making bags like these to go with them. (These for 18" Aluminum Fatbacks).
The innovation behind the Fatback continues to push the snow / sand bike envelope. ( carbon 135 mm fork anyone? phew! ) Let it snow! Been working through quite a few frame bags lately, here are some of the highlights: This one is a bit over the top, and although simple in appearance it has most of the features in my book of tricks:
Another big bag with a tapered width front section:
Bag for a Kent Eriksen 29er:
Bag for a Lenz soon to be on the Colorado Trail:
Making a versatile, somewhat universal rectangle shaped frame bag that can fit a variety of bikes has been kicked around in my mind for a long time.
To add a little extra oomph to the re-branding and web site launch, Tangle bags are now available. We have a small stock of the mountain size and will have a batch of the touring version finished pretty soon. After spending a decent chunk of time comparing geometry, we settled on two sizes. They generally fit the entire medium-large scale of bikes made with steel and titanium. Aluminum and Carbon bikes usually have slightly smaller internal frame spaces due to the larger tubing size and gussets used, we have not tried the bags on many of these but basically if it the frame looks pretty normal, then they should fit. A third size is in the works for smaller frames, but for now this is what we've got.
