Brett de Woody and Cameron Lawson recently completed a 350 mile fat tire bike - packraft assisted beach expedition ride along the Gulf of Alaska.

Their route was similar to the trip Dylan Kentch and I completed in 2008 but avoided the hazards of Hubbard Gap. The duo enjoyed decent weather and mellow crossings of Yakutat bay, Icy bay and Controller bays, but had their fair share of boondoggles, mud bogging and multisport slog-festing in the Copper River delta.

Brett used The Harness and the large front pocket to carry his Alpacka packraft and other small gear. Making for quick and easy transitions from biking to rafting across the many rivers out there.

Nice job guys, way to get after it! Photos copyright and courtesy of Cameron Lawson Lost Coast Blogs: Brett and Cam's 2010 The 2008 adventure

Julie and I headed out beach biking for the weekend along the Kenai peninsula coast. Nice gravel, bluebird weather and campfires on the beach. Beach riding is fun... you should try it.

Steve Fasbinder and his buddy are heading out to traverse Canyonlands via the Needles District ending in Page, Arizona using Alpacka packrafts and Surly Karate Monkeys. Something like a 16-day expedition. They will need to carry a few days of water at some points. It's awesome to see out-of-the-box trip ideas combining mountain bikes, packrafts and our gear. Info can be found on Doom's blog here.

They are setup with custom frame bags and handlebar harness bags Good luck guys!

Freak of nature Kurt Refsnider (2nd place 2009 Tour Divide) recently slayed the complete border to border Arizona trail, which included an up-and-down traverse of the Grand Canyon!

Congratulations Kurt! You rock!

Kurt's feedback on the bags:  "The new bags you made for me are absolutely perfect.  After a week on the AZT, I have no suggestions on how to improve them.  They held my gear and didn't move around...simple as that..." yeah!
